Privacy notice
Swiftbird is built so that your films, scripts, media, conversations and keys stay on your own computer. This notice explains the small amount of information that does leave it, who handles it and what you can ask us to do.
Draft of 28 September 2026
Who we are
Swiftbird is made by [BUSINESS NAME], based in [COUNTRY] ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: hello@getswiftbird.com.
The short version
- Your work stays on your machine. Films, scripts, media, beat sheets, renders, Swiftbird conversations, memories, settings and the keys you save in Swiftbird are stored on your own computer. We don't receive them and can't read them.
- The cloud holds your identity and minimal billing history. That means your email address, a user ID and how you sign in, and, once paid plans launch, the few payment and subscription records needed to know your plan.
- Your AI provider is your own. Swiftbird drives the Claude Code or Codex CLI that you installed and signed in to. What you send in Chat goes to that provider under your account with them and their privacy terms, not ours.
- No tracking. This website has no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
What we collect, and why
Waitlist. If you join the Windows waitlist, we store your email address, which sign-up form or button you used (a short label for its position on the site, for example "download" or "pricing-plus"), when you agreed and which version of the wording beside the form you saw, and a random removal code for your personal "leave the waitlist" link. We use it only to tell you when Swiftbird can be downloaded (plus one confirmation when you join, if we switch that on), and then [RETENTION: delete the list within 6 months of launch]. To stop automated or repeated sign-ups, the waitlist service also keeps two keyed, one-way codes, one made from your IP address and one made from your email address (never the IP address itself), for at most two days; they are deleted automatically every hour once they're old enough. Like every request to our hosting providers, a sign-up also appears in Supabase's own platform request logs, which record the IP address, approximate location (such as city and country) and browser, and which Supabase keeps for its log-retention period. You can leave at any time: use the link in any waitlist email, the Remove my address button shown after you join, or email hello@getswiftbird.com. Leaving deletes your entry.
Your Swiftbird account. Every plan needs a sign-in, including Free. When you sign in with Google or an email link, our identity provider stores your email address, a user ID, the sign-in method, and sign-in timestamps. We use this to recognise you, link your plan to you and keep your account secure. The desktop app stores its sign-in session on your computer, encrypted for your Windows account. This website's account page keeps its session in your browser's local storage until you sign out.
Membership and billing (when paid plans launch). Payments are handled by Payhip, which processes cards through Stripe. We never receive or store your card details, billing address or IP address from them. From Payhip we receive and keep only what is needed to work out your plan: the purchase email, the product and plan, the amount and currency, the event type (payment, refund, subscription started or ended) and its date. Our membership service uses those records to confirm your plan and when it is paid through.
Support. If you email us, we keep the conversation and anything you choose to attach, to answer you and to improve Swiftbird. Please don't send keys or passwords.
What we don't collect. We don't collect your films, media, scripts, conversations with your agent, memories, provider keys, file paths, or telemetry about what you do in the app. The in-app Copy diagnostics button copies a summary to your clipboard; it's only sent to us if you choose to paste it into an email.
Where information goes
We use these services to run Swiftbird and this website. Each processes information on our behalf or under its own terms:
| Service | What it does | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Sign-in identity, the membership service and the waitlist (through a small Supabase function) | Email, user ID, sign-in method and times; billing records; waitlist entries; and, in its platform request logs, the IP address, approximate location and browser of each request |
| Payhip | Store and subscription management | Your purchase and the email you use at checkout |
| Stripe | Card payment processing for Payhip | Your payment details, under Stripe's own privacy policy |
| Google (only if you choose Google sign-in) | Signs you in | That you signed in to Swiftbird |
| Cloudflare | Hosts this website | Standard request data such as IP address and browser, for delivery and security |
| jsDelivr | Delivers the sign-in library used by the account page | Standard request data such as IP address |
Services you connect yourself. The desktop app talks directly from your computer to the services you choose: your AI provider through its own CLI, and optionally YouTube, voice, 3D-asset or other services whose keys you add in Settings → Connections. Those services receive what you send them, under your own account with them. We are not a party to that exchange and don't receive a copy.
Some of these providers may process data outside your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on their standard contractual safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Account identity: while your account exists, and deleted when you ask us to delete it.
- Billing records: [RETENTION: as long as tax and accounting law in [COUNTRY] requires, then deleted].
- Waitlist entries: until launch plus [RETENTION: 6 months], or earlier if you leave.
- Waitlist sign-up limits (the keyed codes made from your IP address and your email address): two days at most, deleted automatically.
- Supabase's platform request logs (IP address, approximate location, browser): Supabase's log-retention period.
- Support emails: [RETENTION: 2 years after the conversation ends].
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or give you a copy in a portable format. Email hello@getswiftbird.com from the address involved. We'll answer within one month. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
To delete your account, see Delete your account. Deleting your account never deletes files on your computer; you control those.
Children
Swiftbird isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell account holders by email before the change applies.
