Help centre Account and data
Your data stays on your machine
What Swiftbird keeps on your computer, the little that goes to the cloud, what your agent's provider sees, and how to back it all up.
On your computer
Two places hold everything:
- Your production folder — your films: scripts, beat sheets, Blender and Remotion sources, renders, audio, thumbnails and final exports.
- Swiftbird's data folder — conversations, drafts, preferences, memories, review records and connection details.
Settings → Data & privacy shows where both are. Uninstalling the app keeps the data folder, and signing out doesn't erase anything.
Keys you save in Settings → Connections are encrypted for your Windows account. Swiftbird never shows them again and never writes them into a file your agent can read. Your agent uses paid services through Swiftbird, so the key stays out of its reach.
In the cloud
Only two things:
- Your Swiftbird identity — email address, user ID and how you sign in — held by the identity service, Supabase.
- Minimal billing history, once paid plans launch — the payment and subscription events needed to know your plan. No card details, addresses or full payment records.
Your films, media, scripts, conversations and keys are never uploaded to Swiftbird.
What leaves your computer, and where it goes
Local storage doesn't mean every action is offline:
- Your agent's provider receives the messages you send, the attachments you add and the project context you select, through its own tool and under its own privacy terms.
- Services you connect, such as asset libraries, voice or 3D generation, receive the searches and requests you make.
- YouTube receives the video and details you upload, only after you review them.
Swiftbird doesn't collect usage analytics from the app.
Back up your work
- Copy your production folder, with Swiftbird closed.
- Copy Swiftbird's data folder, or use Settings → Data & privacy → Local backup & recovery to export a checksummed backup of conversations, drafts, preferences and memories.
The record backup leaves out saved keys and queued work, and it isn't a full film archive, so keep copying the production folder too. Treat the backup as private: it contains your conversation text.
Saved keys can't move to another computer by copying files; paste them in again there.
Deleting things
- Your Swiftbird account: see Delete your account.
- Local data: close Swiftbird and delete the data folder yourself. Nobody else can.
- Your provider's copy of your conversations is managed in your provider account.
The full text is in the privacy notice (draft).
